Just watched this last night. I'd never heard of it, but it highlights the great Philip Seymour Hoffman playing the head of an anti-terrorist unit in Germany. Well done I thought...some slow parts, but good story and characters. Overall, well acted.

Before he passed he was one of the best actors there were. I still consider him one of the greatest actors of all time. If you remember he played the Oakland A’s coach in Moneyball. The game designer in Hunger Games. He worked with PTA extensively, working in Boogey Nights. Magnolia. Punch Drunk Love. The Master. Hard Eight. PTA is one of the greatest directors still doing films (recent film with DeCaprio withstanding) and Phillip was heavily used by him. I even remember Hoffman being a CIA guy in Charlie Wilson’s War. And he was hilarious in The Big Lebowski. If you like film, good film. Go through his work. Even the few he did, that weren’t big, or the greatest, he is still outstanding. Damn shame with the drugs and what not. Same story as Heath Ledger, he just lived longer. Definitely at the top of a long list of best actors I’ve seen in this life.

Enjoyed Hoffman in it, sorry he died so early in life and career. John LeCarre has given us another great story.
