I always thought "the angry angels" was a great unit name.

I always like the title “The Angriest Angel” PAG’s Payback was the nose art on Hawke’s fighter. West’s had Above and Beyond. IIRC, been a while since I’ve watched. As an aside, I was shocked how good Joel de la Fuente was in “The Man In High Castle”. Not once did I think of him as Wang. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

The first time I saw the Lone Survivor Foundation logo, I thought: "Man, that looks a lot like the Angry Angels squadron logo." Always thought the Wildcards had the coolest squadron patch/logo.
Same! I was blow away. Speaking of cast - Doug Hutchison as Elroy-El was spot on. Dude's natural creepiness was perfect for that character. And James Morrison was born to play McQueen.

Ahh ok. For some reason I was channeling Starship Troopers when you mentioned it.
%100 agree about Morrison as McQueen.. And Tucker Smallwood as Commodore Ross was a stroke of genius...and Steve Rankin as LtC. Ray Butts...I mean he became the character. I haven't watched Man in the High Castle, and didn't know de la Fuente was in it, but good to know. I couldn't agree more about Doug Hutchison as Elroy-El. I thought he played a fantastically creepy bad guy... especially for a TV series that was interrupted by commercial ads that could cause a loss of scene intensity. Michael Mantell as Howard Sewell (Sewell fuel), the sleazy defense contractor conspirator did a great job with his role also. Really, there were several inspired casting choices, even if they only appeared in one episode...Hell, they even had a recurring role for a porn star. Honestly, I was hoping this thread would eventually get to some of the great AI quotes. "Choice or chance... chance or choice."

I've got a few different flight jackets. There is no way I'm stitching this to the authentic vintage one I used to fly in... but I've got a sterile Summer weight CWU that I'm toying with the idea of adding this to, mostly as a wink and a nod joke, although I doubt many would pick up on it. Would be a laugh when getting together with some old flying buddies. I would love to find a Saratoga patch.

In any other subforum and in any other discussion, I would agree with you. (and probably be just as peeved as you appear to be ) As long as you've been a member here, I would hope that, by now, you would've seen this forum game in the Lair, and understood how it is played, even if you haven't played along. If you take a moment to look through the Lair, you'll notice several other ongoing quote games, similar to this one. Also, I'll point out that Para has participated in the Lair in the last few hours, and would've stepped in if he had a problem with the subject line. Lastly, take a few minutes to read this thread... and pay particular attention to the 6th post down. From this point, any click-bait, vague thread titles gets your thread locked

This is classic '90s tv. Cheesy CGI (alien ships are often tetrahedrons). Worst case of "Main Characters Do Everything" syndrome I've ever seen - the Wild Cards are pilots, but they often do ground-pounder/grunt work, and some episodes have them dogfighting, and the next they are in trenches with machine guns and tanks. They have a clone dude (their version of 'racial minority), who got sent to the Marines in lieu of prison, but they still made him an officer and pilot. They talk about the Marine Corps history, but almost always mention WWII stuff, like Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima (this was before the recent history (from our perspective, of course) of Marines fighting in Iraq and A-stan). That being said, I DON'T CARE. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!! The double episode of the alien ace (in the video above) is perhaps my all-time favorite sci fi episode (and I LOVE several version so Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, Stargate Atlantis, and others). It just works. I love how the fighters (which look very realistic, IMO) are in the hangar, open to space, but the cockpits are raised and lowered so the pilots can have a 'shirt-sleeve' environment while they board their planes. The dynamic between McQueen and Commodore Ross is OUTSTANDING - perhaps some of the best character interactions in any sci-fi show. All set to the background of the late 80s/early 90s corporate distrust, with corrupt politicians threw in for good measure. It's a shame they didn't make it into another season. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Hound Dog, Fear God and Dread Nought Admiral of the Fleet Sir Jacky Fisher
