No, sir. This is the West, sir. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend. A great movie! One of my favorites. Icarus flew too close to the sun, but at least he flew.

Yep, that was him. Also one of my favorite actors. When I read the thread title, I thought "I know that line". Took me about 10 seconds to come up with the movie. It too is in my top 10 favorite movies. Great acting by all, so many great scenes. ETA; greetings from the Low Country!

The Dr in that scene, (Ken Murray) is the guy you see on TCM when they show his home movies of the 40-50-60s stars at home, at the studio, and out on the town.

This is my favorite western, but I hate it. It would be a boring movie if the story were as I wish it was. I can't say anything bad about Stewart's character--he was such a good man, but in my story, Wayne would have been the hero, he would have credit for being the guy who shot Valance, and most of all, he would have gotten the girl. Was the doc wearing the Wizard of Oz' hat? The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

But, that was the point. Place your clothes and weapons where you can find them in the dark. “If in winning a race, you lose the respect of your fellow competitors, then you have won nothing” - Paul Elvstrom "The Great Dane" 1928 - 2016

And, the song is a classic! Has a lot of background history. Liberty Valance Place your clothes and weapons where you can find them in the dark. “If in winning a race, you lose the respect of your fellow competitors, then you have won nothing” - Paul Elvstrom "The Great Dane" 1928 - 2016
