Seemed like a good final entry. Some laughs, in-jokes, and a nice watch.

It was longer than I expected it to be, but ended well.


Clarkson appears to have commented on the idea of if Amazon were to re-cast and re-boot the Grand Tour with other presenters. I have a hard time believing that that will happen.

I just dont know how theyd do it. I watch the show for them, I could care less about the cars, locations etc, all of which are cool don't get me wrong but its about them. We saw this with Top Gear. Three people who look vaguely similar isn't the answer. If they can match the personalities and quirks then I'm all in but I just think they have their work cut out for them.

I’ll be honest it’s a little sad seeing them move on from this. I have been watching Top Gear (the revamped version and a bit of the original) since long before folks knew what it was and remember them bringing James on. I feel like those guys have literally been a part of my life and they remind me of my close friends.

I'm hoping they come back and do reunions every now and then or something.

Watched it today. Been watching it since 2004 before BBC broadcast it here on bootleg videos online. Crazy to think it's been half my life watching them. Gonna miss it.

Harris is a very talented driver and totally gets the joy of cars as well as being a seemingly likeable dude but he is far too much “the straight man” I love hearing him talk about/seeing him drive cars but I don’t want to see him be in a “variety show” if you will like TG and GT really were as well as being more about “the boys”.

I actually also liked Matt LeBlanc but again it’s not the same. The reason, I suspect, most of us took joy from Jezza, Hamster and Captain slow is that they genuinely come across as longtime old friends who both care for and treat each other like shit……..like many of the best friendships do and many of us relate. That’s not something you just replace and recreate with talent or a casting call.

Their chemistry can't be duplicated. They can replicate the format all they want, but it won't ever be the same.

Helps they started 'low' doing cheaper cars and bits & built it up from there.

Hard to start from scratch when you've got where things end currently, and build from it.

Enjoyable.
Not the knee-slapper like some of the older ones were but enjoyable enough for the long-time watcher.

Just watched the final show. Absolutely stunning scenery.

A fitting final tribute to the three of them.

I’m going to miss it. No interest in watching a reboot with no names.

I agree. You could tell it was bittersweet for them. I did get a kick out of them actually stopping at great hotels and what not.

Man I loved this one. Really great episode. Has everything and was a very fitting ending to an amazing run. Best of the GT specials, edging out Mongolia, for me.

I'd argue the Bolivia-special is #1 and Botswanna being #2.
We all have our favorites for any number of reasons, which makes these shows special and fun to discuss; this final was good and a had a number of nice touches. Can't think of another television program that has this volume and range of 'favorite episodes' that viewers can reminisce and lament.

Correct. Bolivia is one of the best TV episodes of any sort any genre all time.

Check. I agree up until this most recent season ender, I think the Mongolia special was the best of the TGT format specials but, One of the Road was a fitting finish and tribute that tops all TGT specials.

You watch it to see them. You can watch the "show" plenty of other places online. Plenty of people doing that same thing, most of them fans themself and acknowledging they're just ripping them off.

Btw, if you have a Samsung Smart Tv with Samsung TV Plus, there is a Top Gear channel that shows nothing but TG. Some of it is the new guys occasionally but mostly Hammond, May, and Clarkson.

Finally watched it last night, classic TGT taking a road trip somewhere most folks will never get to see and providing the audience with a glimpse of those places.

And agree replacing the 22 years these guys spent together developing, nurturing and living in the shows will be difficult for anyone to do.

It was a fitting end to their careers, one we all wished wouldn't happen, but we knew it would eventually come to an end.

It was a great day when Amazon picked them up after the BBC stuck it's stogy old man government attitude and tried to put them out to pasture. The BBC forgot that TG didn't make Clarkson, Hammond and James famous, but those three made TG famous.

In the end the BBC's arrogance ended up making them even more popular.

The first GT was great with the mustangs entrance, and the exit was perfect.

Everyone tuned in to watch them, as cslinger said so well, they came across as long time friends who harass, play tricks, and treat each other horribly, just as many men do in their circle.
