So I used the search function and didn’t see this so hopefully it’s not jib jab. https://www.ign.com/articles/m...-be-set-in-the-1980s Being a Miami Vice junkie, I’m cautiously optimistic. I wish they’d bring Michael Mann in on the project.

We saw the last time he tried Miami Vice. He went way overbudget and couldn't see half the movie because early digital cameras were terrible shooting at night. He also seems full speed ahead on Heat 2.

I'll likely watch it, kinda sorta on topic, been looking for a free stream for the original show but have not been able to find one https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

If you were running casting, who would you cast as Crockett and Tubbs?

Chris Pratt as Crockett, and probably Michael B Jordan as Tubbs. Both have the on screen presence to pull off a believable portrayal of Sonny and Rico. The last attempt at a “movie” was a train wreck at best. It tried to bring back the mojo of the original, the casting wasn’t horrible, but Jamie Fox and Colin Farrell weren’t believable as Crockett and Tubbs. I could spend an hour picking the movie apart, but the dialogue and story seemed forced at best. Oh, and they completely missed the mark on the support cast with probably the exception of Barry Henley. Zito and Stan Switek were completely miscast from the roles they played on the show. Both were kinda goofy, almost comedic relief on the show. Gina and Trudy. Yeah, Sonny was sleeping with Gina, but it was a minor story line that played in with Sonny, his ex and son. Not a major story line like Rico and Trudy in the reboot. And my biggest bitch. Sonny never fired a handgun. In the original show the triple tap with the latest and greatest stainless hardware was his calling card. I guess maybe I’m a purist of the show. It came on Friday nights at 8 on NBC and was groundbreaking on the vibe, music and equipment. The fact the article says that it will be set in the 80s gives me hope, I just hope they don’t go the way of the current trend of no story and a bunch of nostalgic hit pieces strung together for two hours. ________________ People hate you. And please Jesus, I beg of you, make no one in this movie a Navy SEAL. Or some other kind of super soldier operator. Except Martin’s DEA/intel background. Amen ________________ People hate you. Train like it.

The funny thing about that is Sonny was suppose to have custom Taran Tactical 2011s but all of those scenes including a $5 million boat race were cut from the movie.

He had a super expensive SVI worth way more than anything from taran tactical. Was he even around in 2006?

I never watched the series and don't care how accurate the movie was. But for a Mann crime thriller I liked it. I like most everything he has done including Blackhat(DC). "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock "If there's one thing this last week has taught me, it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it." Clarence Worley

Watch the video. He was working on the show and getting $40Ks worth of SVIs and training Colin Farrell how to use them only to have them shown for about 4 seconds.

The cars/boats need to look right. That’s what made Miami Vice iconic.

Jensen Ackles would make a good Crocket. __________________________ "Sooner or later, wherever people go, there's the law. And sooner or later, they find out that God's already been there." -- John Wayne as Chisum
