Fascinating black and white documentary. Camera follows JFK as he challenges HHH for the Democratic nomination in 1960. If you were a child at the time it brings you back. Inside look at HHH campaign. Shows both candidates strolling about and trying to gain votes. HHH had a way of connecting with people and was predicted to beat this back East CATHOLIC MILLIONARE. We all know how that works out. A documentary that lets the camera do the work. Not the level of Errol Morris but interesting none the less. I was a kid at the time and did not pay attention to these things. It is like opening a time capsule. TV was really in its infancy, the Nixon Kennedy debates were in the future. America was simpler then. It shows HHH talking to a group of farmers and actually getting them to crack a smile. Jackie Kennedy is shown speaking a couple of sentences in Polish for the Milwaukee folks. Campaigning then was much less scripted. HHH is telling folks to call the local TV station collect. He tells them to ask hard questions because people like to see you squirm. I remember the campaign song for JFK here: And now HHH to the tune of Davey Crockett: This message has been edited.
