Yup. He got $60 off me back on 10/15/2016 for the Mustang Alpha + Squadron 42 pack, and remains to this day the worst money I've ever spent on a game. "Well, that's awful precise, Smudge. Was that a memorable date?" No, I know that because I just had to look up all the original emails and submit a support ticket because they required two factor authentication back then that has apparently changed. It wanted me to enter some backup codes they never gave me. Some Reddit thread from three years ago was talking about how some accounts slipped through the cracks with this and apparently it was taking several weeks to hear back from support then. I guess we'll see.

Yeah, I dunno how long you guys have been playing, but I recall that it was entirely unplayable at the time. My wife's coworker told me Chris wasn't going to compromise on performance stuff and wanted to basically filter out people with shitty computers. It worked. Hopefully I have enough horsepower to run it now and can get something out of it.

Jesus Christ. That was my problem with Wing Commander back in the day. It was worse than Microsoft Flight Sim with that stuff. It came with a manual that I remember constantly having to reference just to figure out how to fly. Didn't get far with that one.

Sweet! Thanks! I always forget to check Prime.

Wow. Maybe I need to find a crew with a good pilot or something. That’s… I can’t be competitive with that.

Something very different: I enjoy playing poker against real people. The Patriot Act bars online poker for actual money in the U.S.; the premise is that terrorists can use it for money laundering or something like that, so I play with fictional chips at PokerStars.net.

You can buy a supply of these chips, but I have never done that, don't need to spend any real money on that site, as you are eligible to grab 15,000 free chips every four hours.

There's quite a variety of poker games available.

You can set up a private room that will admit players by invitation only. A SIGforum member did that a few years ago, and we had weekly Sunday evening sessions. Enjoyable, didn't cost anything, and there's a chat window for real-time dialogue with other players.

Wow, the mention of Wing Commander brings back some memories.

My first Ultima was VI. I killed Lord British, then months later found out there was a contest to see who could do it first, lol. I loved Ultima Underground.

It's been so long, I honestly can't remember. Between your email and Orguss posting about it, I decided I'll try to dust it off tonight. If I can get it running, I'll shoot you an email. Smile

One of the guys my wife worked with in Washington is a friend of Chris Roberts. They're friends from the original Wing Commander days. Yes, Wing Commander as in 1990. They still game together. I asked him one time at a social thing years ago if he thought Star Citizen would ever come out of beta and he laughed at me.

Phone's ringing, Dude.

The roadmap shows nothing completed and a whole lot of "TBD" status. The "known issues" category seems pretty lengthy and they admit quite a few are impossible to overcome. Seems pretty broken to me.

Three days of trading emails with Cloud Imperium Games' support people and I can't get into my account, nor are they either capable of, or willing to do anything else. I'm sure as hell not spending another dime with these people, so I guess I won't be joining anyone for Star Citizen lol.

Probably for the best. In the meantime, you can get Elite Dangerous for about $15 during one of the many sales on Steam. It's Star Citizen-lite but at least it's finished.

I don't have a specific game that I can say is my favorite. but lately I play candy crash, puzzle, chess.

I always like to play something new and I was lucky that I found a site with free online games where I play practically every day

Well.. since this thread has been resurrected from the dead. I still to play some star citizen but have been playing Fall Out 76 more. I think I picked it up $10 on sale around July or so of this year.

Still only get a few hours a week to play games. I did invest in a pair of sticks (VKBs) to play Star Citizen.

I'm weird. But I bought Battletech off steam about five years ago and never played it.

The other night, I started it at 11pm. Next thing you know, it's 7am and my son is knocking at the door saying, it's time to take me to school. lol.

Finished it, now looking for something else.

Not minority enough!
