Found the old series on Amazon Prime and am watching it through again. It's still as good as it was 20ish years ago.

Not unlike One Second After, it gives the prepper in me much to think about. And then there's Heather...swoon...

It is long past time for a Convention of States. The Founding Fathers gave us this tool to fix an out of control government and we need to use it.

Holy crap has it been 20 years?

I mourn these shows that were actually really good but never were allowed to have any real closure. Sacrificed to the Gods of Reality TV

Another one in the same boat was Revolution.

In case anyone was wondering what my "nuts" comment meant...

quote:
"Nuts" refers to a famous fan campaign where viewers sent over 20 tons of nuts to CBS to protest the cancellation of the TV show Jericho, ultimately leading to the show's partial revival. The protest referenced a line from the season finale where the character Jake Green says, "Nuts" to a hostile town, echoing a famous World War II military response.

Ooo - thank you for the heads-up that this is available on Prime. My household enjoyed this short-lived series; I’m also surprised that it’s been almost 20 years back!

Another thanks for the heads up, rewatching now.

Interesting how some of the plot lines were almost prophetic for things that have happened since it came out…

Internal events leading to a balkanization of the US (not there yet but lines being drawn).

A “virus” where normal treatment is tamped down in favor of the official government approved treatment.

Unelected people entrenched in the government making decisions without authority or accountability.

Military commanders working against Presidential authority (Trump first term - Millie, Vindman…).

What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

I loved that show when it came out. It inspired me to write my post-apocalyptic book series, Guardians of Rockport. Book 6 was just released.

Thanks to the OP for mentioning Jericho as it got me started on rewatching it. Great story, and as already mentioned, quite a bit prophetic. Doesn't hurt anything for all of the really great looking gals in it, especially Ashley Scott! She just kinda melts me...

It got off the rails a bit in the later seasons but the mysteriousness of 'who was really running things' was awesome.
