I finally got to watch the series after 27 years. I can remember when it was on, I recall the commercials. Maybe caught a few minutes of it, but never really watched it. I recall thinking it looked kinda cheesy, and not the greatest quality like a lot of things on Fox at the time. This of course was before I'd fully developed an appreciation for Bruce Campbell. In recent years, once I had, I really regretted not seeing it kept an eye out online without success. Now having watched it... yeah it's cheesy, silly, but good fun. It was a GREAT vehicle for Campbell, he was perfect for the role. I regret not having seen it when it was on and like a couple Fox shows, wish it had lasted longer that it did. At least there's 27(?) episodes. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

I think I watched the whole series when it was first run as I believe that The X-Files came on after and I was a fan of it at the time.

Love the show. Have it in my collection and have watched many times. Bruce is great, of course, but he is always great. I think the late Julius Carrey deserves a shout out as Lord Bowler though. I think he was my favorite character and the dynamic with Brisco was awesome. Also Pete Hutter. “NOBODY touches Pete’s piece” was super fun. That was the actor who played the end villain on Burn Notice and Tex on the Last Ship. I really Dug Dixie as well. I love the cheese, the steampunk, the actors the villains and just the fact it is a FUN show. Wish we would have gotten another season or two. "Guns are tools. He was very good in the part. Watching stuff like this I often check people out on IMDB to see what else they were in or have seen them in and didn't recall. The first thing that jumped out at me for him was The Last Dragon, I said 'Of course!" As for Pete Hutter (John Pyper-Ferguson) the second I saw him I said "that's the scared deputy from Unforgiven!" Charley Hecker. (anyone can be scared) Looking at his IMDb I apparently have sen him in MANY other things, just never recognized him. Looking at more recent pictures now on Google I thought "Oh him, sure I've seen him plenty of times", just looks a little different, just enough. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

Awaits his CUT of choice |
I listened to Bruce's first memoir on audiobook. While happy for the work, he said he did not like the feeling of the whole series weighing on his shoulders. Bruce was happy when it ended.

I got into the X-Files because it came on after Brisco. __________________________ "Sooner or later, wherever people go, there's the law. And sooner or later, they find out that God's already been there." -- John Wayne as Chisum

It takes a real time commitment to watch an entire series and when Brisco was on it never struck me as worth watching and I haven't caught a single episode...but I've also learned that there are several series that I've missed over the years that were worth doubling back and watching, so maybe someday, when life slows down I'll check it out. There is a bitchute channel that has all the Brisco episodes uploaded (in addition to over 2000 other TV series episodes and movies) that anyone can watch for free.

I loved the show, too, and cslinger summed it up well. I watched it in its original run; it was cheesy but a lot of fun. I purchased the DVDs a few years ago and, since then, have written several Brisco stories taking place shortly after the series ended. There's a "lost episode" and several short stories featuring various characters from the show. One of the shorts features Pete Hutter shortly after he got his presidential pardon. He's trying to decide if he wants to pull one last train robbery before going straight and it ties into a scene at the beginning of the pilot. Great show! "But, as luck would have it, he stood up. He caught that chunk of lead." Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock "If there's one thing this last week has taught me, it's better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and not have it." Clarence Worley

You either have to love Campbell or not. I liked that show and watched it when it first aired. It seems he just plays himself.

I've read critics say he just parodies himself in most roles. (or parodies his persona, if that's really "him" or just who he's become to stay famous, who knows) (though admittedly he's more of a fringe/cult following kind of famous) _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.
