Big Z Z top fan for 30 years saw them 5 times.

This was a weird night.
800 people showed up at a casino to see this band.

Billy and four guys were supposed to be playing their new album.

they only played four songs off the album.

they played three songs that the other guys wrote, then the played a dozen Z Z Top songs
from the late 70's early 80's Roll Eyes

this was the 1st concert for these four playing together, live.

and it showed , the audio did not get good until the 7th song. the light guy was asleep at the wheel,

It not seem like they had a song list prepared.

had I payed $40.00 for tickets , I'd be getting my money back.

b.t.w., z.z.top plays z.z. top songs way better than these three did.

needed way more songs from the album.
glad I went , but would advise others to wait until the 7th or 8th tour date ,
maybe they will have it together by then.

Our seats were 40 ft. from the stage, turns out that the sound was 60 % better 95 foot back farther.

the warm up musician was very good

I went to an outdoor concert a few years ago,

Dave Grisman Quintet,
acoustic show (broadcast thru amps of course

we got up close cause you normally think that is the thing to do,

sounded horrible, and being an outdoorsy type thing, everyone around us apparently had to have their own conversations,,

we decided to move back behind the sound/light guys booth, and it was both quieter (no more jibber jabber from the folks around us) and also sounded 100% better

Heading to the Agora in Cleveland this Sunday to catch the Billy Gibbons concert. Hoping they got the bugs worked out. I am not against hearing any classic ZZ Top jams though.

We have a really nice concert theater here in Cheyenne. They book at least 80 nights/year, so there’s lots to choose from and there have been several shows that we attended. Just a month or two ago we saw ZZ Top there. I have to say that the sound was really muddy and the vocals almost indiscernible; that has not been the case in the other shows we’ve seen there.

I’ve got a friend through the rodeo committee, who is chief of security for the concert series; he is at every show. We talked about the acoustics at the venue in general and ZZ Top in particular. He said they’re all great guys and a pleasure to be around, but they won’t listen to advice on sound. They like to “dime” everything and do not take the size of the venue into account. It was great fun to see them again (it had been too long), but the sound quality was not good.
