Sniper Elite 5 came out for PC today. I got the Deluxe version from CD Keys for $60.49. Activated in Steam and downloaded this morning.

Really enjoyed SE4, played the hell out of it so I've been looking forward to this one.

I’ve played the hell out of the SE games and I’ve played 4 so many times so many ways and it never gets boring to me. The biggest negative I’ve read about 5 is it is basically more of the same which is totally cool with me.

I am glad to hear that, because that's exactly what I was hoping also, that they didn't mess with it and it was just SE4 but more.... Cant wait to get home and play it.

Hopefully you get to blow up Hitler with stew again or drop a submarine on him... lol....

More of the same is what I want in this game!

I think it has one of the best value per hours played of any franchise out there.

Still probably not even halfway through the first map and I am loving it.

I went and watched a review of it. Guy said it felt like "Sniper Repeat". Made me chuckle.

I played 3 a bunch never got to 4. Slow mo x-ray head shots are so satisfying!

That is exactly what I want. Give me a big “DLC” and I am thrilled. Smile

Ordered for my PS5. Looking forward to another few years of SE sandbox shenanigans. Smile

You have to play SE4. I found it a lot more enjoyable than SE3. Lots of good DLC available, huge levels, fantastic game. Probably very cheap at this point and it on Game Pass

I am not super far in. I am on the monastery / castle map but overall I don’t like it as much as SE4 for a few reasons.

-The first map while being big really funneled you using “thick bushes or fences or closed roads etc.”. The first mission in SE4 conversely was real playground so to speak.

-While the customization of the guns is great the variety is a little meh.

-While the game rewards you for stealth and non lethal kills it is FAR FAR more forgiving if you go guns blazing. (I am playing on the sniper elite setting one step down from authentic). Because of this I get lazy and just MP40 a bunch of dudes vs the other SE games where I had to be far more methodical. I will likely replay much more methodically but you don’t HAVE TO.

-Something about the new tagging system I don’t like. You don’t click on a target to tag as much as hold over it for a time. The problem is targets that are clearing visible to me but past some arbitrary distance calculation (my guess) don’t generally tag.

-NO MORE TRIP WIRES OR S-MINEs!!!! All we get are the land mines and some non lethal stuff and one of my joys especially in SE4 was using a variety of traps especially in the wave defense parts of the games.

All in all, it’s sniper elite and I am enjoying it but SE4 is my favorite by far.

Also the enemies see far more oblivious to hand grenades. In the previous games generally when a grenade is thrown they go all “holy shit” and attempt to dive out of the blast radius. Here it’s far easier to lure a bunch of dudes and frag ‘‘em all. Fun yes, but hollow. Smile

A question-has sniper elite always had “hitman” body boxes??? I never noticed them in previous games but they are all over the place in this one. (Could be I just missed that aspect of play n previous games).
