This is a silly little exercise, I understand that, of course America’s music is as varied as the years and our differences would make it. Here’s how I got here. This morning I was listening to Merle Travis. He did a cover of “Wildwood Flower.” There can be only one—-Mother Maybelle Carter’s. Here it is. Then I was looking at my YT feed and I see this one from Metallica. I’ve long loved this one, and I’m not really a fan of Metal (or whatever subgenre you put Metallica in); this one is really a rock ballad. So then I’ve got two songs that I’ve posted to my FB page: Mother Maybelle and Metallica. Quite a span. Where else could I go? How about this? Whew! There’s gotta be some Blues. This thread won’t have any legs, but I guess I did it for me. All of these songs mean something to me. _______________________________________________________ despite them | ||
