It’s a reunion/cast interview. While I’m looking forward to seeing it, it’s not like it’s Season 2.

I hear it's a movie or short series coming next year.

Not with that attitude it isn't... Wink

They haven't said what it is yet. All they've said is it isn't just a podcast, crossover, or convention. We'll have to wait until Sunday to find out.

Notice how the social media clips haven't included Alan Tudyk.

If it was merely a reunion interview, they would certainly be including Wash in that. Whereas if they were continuing the story...

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a second film, set to debut on the 25th anniversary in December 2027.

I wanna say there is a post in social media land that had Tudyk in it, basically a big cast reunion at a convention somewhere

Yeah, I was talking about the little social media vignettes (clips of which are in the OP's video) that Nathan Fillion has been posting over the last week where he's rounding up the old Serenity crewmembers.

No Tudyk in those.

I saw the one where Fillion is knocking in everyone’s door (RIP Ron Glass) and at the end it was he and Tudyk scrambling through the bushes.

The two of them have a podcast called Once We Were Spacemen. I think Wash will be involved in whatever.

The whole cast is going to be at Awesome Con in DC next week. you can pay a small fortune to get a picture with them.

Also, the 'we were spacemen' podcast will be hosted live from the Con as well.

BUT!!!

Nathan has said that the get together nor podcast are what he is talking about that it is going to be something Big and supposedly it will be revealed and discussed during Awesome Con.

I will be at BladeShow Texas next week or I might go up there to just see the panel / podcast. That is the rumors for now.

Joss Whedon is still cancelled, as far as I know. He hasn't done anything since 2021 (most likely 2020 with how shows are produced ahead of time.) If it were to be a continuation of the series and movie, it wouldn't be the same without him at the helm.

Where is the one with all the head bobbing? Someone said it was a promotion for a set of bobble heads.

Today's latest video where he knocks on Tudyk's door is labeled "It's not bobbleheads".

One interesting theory I saw was for an animated series, set between the show and the film. That would solve both the "Tudyk is involved" and the "cast is 20ish years older" points. Could even have it set after the film, with Tudyk being involved on the creative side and/or just voicing various side characters like Matt Mercer does in his shows.

With the huge recent success of stuff like the Critical Role animated shows, and other adult-oriented animated series like Invincible/Primal/Scavengers Reign/Castlevania/etc., that could make something like this more viable.

I know I really enjoyed the comics. Especially the story of preacher. so an animated series with the original voices would have great potential.

With all the hype, if it’s not a new series or movie I’m going hunt down Nathan Fillion and give him an atomic wedgie! Razz

The rumors were right... It's an animated series set between the show and the film. Working title "Firefly: Still Flyin'"

They have the blessing of Joss Whedon, the rights to the show from Fox/Disney, an animation studio on board, two outside writers/showrunners, a script, concept art, all the original cast as voice actors (except the deceased Book), and are currently shopping it around to streaming services for distribution rights.

The cast of cult Space Western "Firefly" (widely considered the best show ever to only last 14 episodes) has been teasing a big announcement on social media for weeks now. Nathan Fillion, aka Captain Malcolm Reynolds, has been filming videos for social media of him knocking on his old co-stars' doors and telling them it's finally time for something.

At Awesome Con in Washington D.C., seven members of the "Firefly" cast (minus Adam Baldwin and the late Ron Glass) finally delivered the announcement: an animated "Firefly" series is currently in development, with all eight surviving members of the main cast set to return. The announcement, which doubled as a live taping for Fillion and Alan Tudyk's "Once We Were Spacemen" podcast, included a reveal of concept art for the series (see below), created by the animation studio ShadowMachine.

By setting it before the movie Tudyk is still alive as the pilot.

Thats awesome.
