LOL

Does that count as a 2nd vote for Aerosmith?

Funny U2 seems to be trending. I agree. I bought Joshua Tree and, like you describe, tried and failed to ever like it.

Aerosmith- I bought some of their albums, and liked some of their songs, but at the end of the day, Steven Tyler just ruins it for me.

Genesis- bought a couple of their records and tried to listen to them, just couldn't get into it.

Green Day- hey, a little poppy punk band, bought "Dookie", played it once or twice, and gave away the album (one of the very few). After listening, it became grating, annoying. I still skip the channel if I hear them in my truck on the radio.

DMB and WSP. I also don't like the Grateful Dead although I love a lot of their songs. I'd just rather hear anybody else play them.

Dave Matthews Band is easy to figure out, but what is WSP? Widespread Panic?

U2, Pink Floyd, and Pearl Jam come to mind. I'm sure there's more obscure bands that I couldn't bring myself to like, but these are probably the most popular ones. If I had to rank them, U2 is by far the one I tried the hardest to like but just couldn't.

Rolling Stones.

I never liked their music, but admire their ability to continue raking in $$ on tours.

Steely Dan, Oasis, Kansas, post-Santana(band) Santana, Yes, 80s hair bands (collective), KISS, Blondie and much of their by-then already outdated "new wave" cohorts, many purported 'alt' bands from the 90s and later, Nu Metal whereby all of which really sounds like the same 3 or 4 sets of studio musicians repackaged and marketed with a boy (or girl) singer and different band names, the current scourge of so-called country acts, and any that uses that annoying digitized finger snaps, drum beats and/or hand claps...I definitely could go on and on, but these come to mind right away.

Then there are those whose music with time I've come to dislike, but that's for another thread and day.

I’m struggling with the phrase “really tried to like.” I could name bands that were, or are, very popular and have large followings, but I can’t say I spent any time trying to like them.
