Sweetest sounding guitar I've ever heard. He plays one of the few Bob Dylan songs I actually care to listen to. "Fixed fortifications are monuments to mans stupidity" - George S. Patton

My father in law had a couple of pre-war Martins. One was a 1934 000-28 and the other was a 1936 000-15 or 18 slotted head mahogany body. (I think I got the years right) Both played beautifully, and sounded amazing. He left both of them to my sister in law, but said many times he left one of them to each of his daughters. What I'd give for that 000-28..... Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.

You’ve probably got your favorite flat-picker. Lots name Tony Rice or Doc Watson, and rightly so. I’ve seen Norman Blake live, have 3 or 4 albums from the 70s and I’ve long been partial to him. He’s playing a 1934 Martin D-28, shaded top, 12 fret, slotted head guitar. I think everyone I’ve heard him play recorded or live is a pre-War Martin. D-18s on the Whiskey Before Breakfast and Back Home in Sulpher Springs albums recorded before he acquired the ‘34 D-28. _______________________________________________________ despite them

I wish I had the cash for one, but my skill level is nowhere near buying a guitar like that. I’m not really good enough for what I have but I enjoy playing. Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.
