My wife and I went to see the movie. She got up to refill her drink and didn't come back. I left shortly after.

I like Adam Sandler, but there was nothing in that movie that I found redeeming, from the script to story to the construction of the film. Every aspect of that movie was revolting, and it's one of the only movies I've ever attended in which I wish I'd had not only my money, but my time back.

I couldn't tell if Sandler's character was the protagonist or antagonist, but either way, there was nothing endearing about the character. Even a villain needs some redeeming element when written into a script or manuscript. I don't recall a single character in the film that had one.

It's the literary equivalent of a director jacking off to his own film.

It certainly fits a genre of movies. What genre, I don't know. It's like they had a budget and a basic plot. Had to end in so many minutes. How to end it inside that time limit? BAM! I got it. Let's shoot this film.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
