I just streamed the movie "The Tuner" on Prime. It's a really enjoyable view about a piano tuner with a physical disability that makes him hypersensitive to sound to the point that loud noises cause him to have an allergic reaction/breakdown. He does have "perfect pitch" and an enhanced ability to tune pianos, that he does for a living (learning under an expert played by Dustin Hoffman). This physical condition also allows him to crack into safes and it leads to an unsavory association with a trio of Israeli criminals that tap into his desperate need for cash.

The actors are excellent, the characters are engaging, the plot (no spoilers here) is somewhat predictable, but with enough twists to enjoy and still be believable. It's a good watch!

There's also a great cameo appearance, and it's not Dustin Hoffman.

Between 40 -50 years ago in central Alabama, there was a blind guy who tuned pianos and stringed instruments. My mom hired him to tune her piano. His sense of hearing was sensitive enough to allow him to make a living in that. He had an assistant who drove him around, carried his tools, etc.

Same. Small town in middle Georgia. I remember being a kid and a blind guy coming over to the house. Tuned my mom's piano. This would have been around 35-40 years ago.
