Two of my favorite British actors in this little gem. Throw in Michael Caine for good measure. Bob Hoskins as a small-time crook just out of prison doing what he can to get by, and Robbie Coltrane as his faithful pal. Great interplay between the two. Several interesting threads of other characters woven in as well. Hoskins had the misfortune of being nominated for the Academy Award for best actor in the year they decided that they finally had to give an Oscar to Paul Newman (for The Color of Money).
