A fantastic movie! I definitely think it's his best film.

An all time favorite of mine. So many good quotes out of that movie, it rivals or exceeds HEAT.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, and intolerable...”

Great movie but an even better book. I don’t think the movie got the credit it deserved because too many people only viewed him as a comedian.

I was expecting the movie with Tyrone Power, John Payne and Anne Baxter.
Got a lot of other good actors in it too.

I haven't seen the movie, but I'll take your word for it; the book is usually better. I haven't read him for a while, but I do have a fondness for Somerset Maugham's work.
