Spent the last hour or so listening to Pink Floyd. Like so much music from that era, a very singular sound.

David Gilmour, Roger Waters, and Rick Wright’s tribute to Syd Barrett:

I love melodic guitar players. So I listen to David Gilmour and Pink Floyd.

Amplify it. Turn it up.

Maybe one from before DSOM

And one more, after the departure of Roger Waters; I don’t think they missed him much. This one tries to bring tears to my eyes.

I love this song from their Obscured By Clouds album, a soundtrack for a French film recorded before Dark Side of the Moon. Reminds me of Brian Eno's 1st album Here Come the Warm Jets, it has a Beatlesque quality to it.

I assume I have heard that one before, but I honestly don’t remember it. A little different sound for them.

Greymann’s post reminds me, the drummer is Nick Mason. He was a founding member, and has appeared on every PF album.

Bass player in this show is Guy Pratt.

Saw Roger Waters live in 2000. Was a great show. Was 2nd Row front and center at the Lakewood here in ATL.

I no longer have my home theater set up, but when I did, I loved watching the Pulse concert DVD every now and then.

Another item to add to my project list.

PSA to all Pink Floyd fans of which I am a fanatic..ask my wife.

Brit Floyd is fantastic. They are a high class energetic tribute band. They travel world wide and with the exception of COVID era, I have probably seen them every year for the past 12 years.

Check out their website and schedule. You will not be disappointed.

Big fan here, got truckloads of original albums, concerts, etc.

Usually i highly recommend checking out Billy Sherwood’s all stars Back against the Wall and the other side of the dark side of the moon. Those two tribute albums are almost as good as the original because of the extremely talented and famous musicians in them.

Today i submit to you Lee Saunders “promise of Peace”. It does have most of the ingredients of a PF album, but it is not.

Likely all worth your time.

I looked at Brit Floyd’s tour, urbanwarrior’s post made me curious. Looks like 2 shows at Red Rocks is their only foray into the western half of the country (The Wall on the 1st night, and DSOM the 2nd). Red Rocks is a great venue, but it’s gotten really expensive to see a show there, and it’s not easy to make a show down there for us. We’ll see.

David's solo for the final two minutes is his best ever IMO.

I saw a comment awhile back on a Youtube short of Gilmour playing. "It's like God is talking to your soul".
