For me it's "The Wood Dove", (Antonín Dvořák). When the bass clarinet sounds, and the wood dove trills, chills go up my spine. No other music has that effect on me.
I just finished listening to "The Wood Dove" on my iPod...that is beautiful ...added "Tone Poems" to my play list. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Bisleyblackhawk,

In the spirit of Bilsey's post, there is a genre of music called Dark Ambient. I bought an album thirty years ago and its so creepy that I never finished the first song on either side. Here is a less intense sample, Mutated Silent Night.

Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" and "Danse Macabre" are two of my favorites for this time of the year.
This is what I play outside the front door on Halloween, dark with the only light a pumpkin on the ground. The kids, and some adults, always tell us they were a little scared walking up.
