Cloverton's rendition with a Christmas twist is by far favorite. Cloverton - Hallelujah Christmas Come Christmas time I love to turn it up loud on the surround sound system sit on the floor in the middle of the room close my eyes and let the lyrics take my mind and put visuals to the lyrics. While that isn't a bad rendition, nor was the one posted by the OP for that matter, I am with 46and2 and prefer the Buckley version as well. I personally think the instrumentals in the Buckley version work well to make the song more haunting and intense. “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. While the Buckley version isn't my favorite because I don't find his voice particularly appealing, I gotta say, the Pentatonix version is enjoyable, but sounds to me like they went for perfection via autotune/digital production over raw emotion, and that song is all about raw emotion. Also, beside the point, but an irritation nonetheless, they put it on a Christmas album for no other reason than that it contained the word hallelujah. This remains my favorite version. Reportedly Cohen wrote over 80 verses to the song. John Cale said that he had to cut down the 15 verses to ones he identified with. I would love to see/hear all of the verses. Nonetheless here is John Cale: “Agnostic, gun owning, conservative, college educated hillbilly” | |||

The Canadian Tenors have a great version. When Cohen first presented the song to his publisher they didn't put it on the next album. "No potential" they said. Later, Bob Dylan seemed to recognize the "potential" of the song and covered it in honor of Cohen at a couple of concerts and it started to gain momentum. JJCale then picked it up and recorded it. It began being picked up by other artists. Wish the three Tenors had recorded it. | |||

I watched a few of her other videos, she looks like someone who might be on the brink of making it big. I'm not much into country music, but she seems to fit the mold of a star in that genre. | |||
