If you like police procedurals/legal dramas and don't mind subtitles, there are two French series you may enjoy. The first, Spiral, is set in Paris and follows crimes, the police who investigate them and the lawyers who prosecute them, rather like a more realistic and much grittier Law and Order without the preachy liberal subtext. It's very well done and there are about 4 seasons of episodes. It's on Netflix. Then there's Braquo. Also set in Paris, it follows a team of plainclothes cops who are most often either right on the line or over it in a manner reminiscent of The Shield. It's both dark and riveting. This series also ran for around 4 seasons and is on Hulu.

No Compromise |
I'll have to give those a look-see. I love Paris as a city. I would move there permanently if I could (if it weren't for the Parisians-almost as bad as Canadians). Highlander had some percentage of the episodes shot in Paris, I think. And you don't have to read subtitles. After all, there can be only one. H&K-Guy

Merci Beaucoup, will hunt them down. Got a lead on Braquo but zip on Spiral so far. 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Je vous en prie. You might try searching Engrenages as well. I believe that was originally the title when the series first began in France.
