Is there a song that instantly just causes you to relax?
Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars This song just always seems to calm me down and cause me to ignore the world which is actually kind of what the song is about. If I have trouble sleeping I will put this song on repeat and it does not take long for me to be asleep.
This weekend was so busy. We had a soccer tournament in Indy so we drove up there Friday night, payed 2 games Saturday, and one this morning. It was cold and wet all weekend. Drove home 3 hours to play 2 indoor games. Grabbed dinner and went home. I was smoked but we needed some stuff to make lunches this week so off to the store I went. I walk in Publix and as I am choosing my apples this song comes on. Life just instantly slowed down and I thought to myself man I could just lay here in the middle of the floor of the grocery store and fall right asleep. I come home and wonder if other folks have such a song that just calms them? So I go to YouTube so I can share the song with you all. I have never actually seen the video and it’s pretty funny because the video is a dude just laying down in completely random places like I wanted to do at Publix when this song came on.

Hushabye mountain (Stacey Kent) and Moonriver (Audrey Hepburn?) do it for me.

Shitty video quality but it's straight off the artist's page:
Synthwave in general enhances my calm (John Spartan ) but I like this track, specifically.

Afternoon Delight by the Starland Vocal Band. I first heard this song while riding shotgun in an old pickup. We were on our way to a blue ribbon trout stream in SE Idaho. That was in the summer of 1976. I was a year out of the Navy. I liked the song then and still do today. Wow - 50 years flew by.

The day I quit my job at St. Joes in Syracuse and headed back west, this came on whilst cruising down I90. I love this dang song and could listen to it all day long
Chasing Cars is a great tune as well.

Pretty much anything by Annie Haslam / Renaissance but "Ocean Gypsy" will relax me immediately.
If you're into bass, check out Jon Camp's action on Vultures beginning at about 13:52. One of music's most under-rated bassists of all time. Sleep well, Jon and thank you. This message has been edited. Last edited by: pace40,

I find this song so unlike typical SRV, but I also admit I don't know his music front to back.
