I don't normally care whether a movie won any awards for me to enjoy it but this one won three. Sandra Bullock and Matt Dillon star in it along with a bunch of journeyman actors and actresses like Bisset. I'm recommending this movie based on the unexpected twists and turns. Nothing was predictable at all for me. And I don't think the stories were upended just for the sake of upending things either but plausible renditions of real life. What I like about it is the method of breaking preconcieved notions as I believe in that method often. We don't learn anything until something breaks in our perception of how things are supposed to be. I'm sure as old as this film is, some people here have seen it. What was your reaction to the movie? And if you haven't seen it, it's worth a watch. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Matt Dillon, not Matt Damon. Along with Don Cheadle, Thandie Newton, Terrance Howard, Brendan Fraser, Michael Pena, Jennifer Esposito. Its been a long time since I saw it and I started it the other night to watch again but only had time for about 30 minutes. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

Thanks for the correction. I thought he sure didn't look like himself. LOL "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. Cheadle is fantastic in it. I loved the movie, but I've noticed many critics feel it shouldn't have won best picture. I thought it was a better movie than Brokeback Mountain...the racial message is pretty complex.

Have you ever seen "Crash" (1996) by David Cronenberg. It is a different film. Very different. God Bless and Protect the Once and Future President, Donald John Trump.
