Bob Seger is one of my all time favorites. I saw him Saturday night at the Jiffy Lube Live Pavillon in Virginia, just outside Washington D.C. He is 74 years old and it shows. It was a wonderful concert and well worth seeing. He says this is his final tour. If you like Bob Seger and get a chance to go, you should.

I bought that .45 when it was new. His band was called "The Bob Seger System" then. I never heard much more about him until the Night Moves album came out. At one time I had most of his albums on vinyl. I am gradually replacing them with CDs.

If you have seen the 2 part series "History of the Eagles" Bob Seger says Glenn Frey played and sung of the song Ramblin.

I heard Nina Blackwood saying on Sirius the other day that his final concert in Detroit sold out in about 20 minutes so he decided to have another "final" concert to include all those excluded from the first sold out one. That one, as well, sold out in about 20 minutes. So, he did a third which sold out in about 20 minutes. He stopped there.

I was supposed to be at the same show you were at. I live just a few minutes from Jiffy Lube live (or as I call it, the Nissan Pavillion)

Complications from my back surgery kept me away unfortunately.

He is the one person I never got to see live. Just another casualty of my youth, I guess

I’m glad it was a good show

His first incarnation was "Bob Seger And The Last Heard" mid 60's. He is from Ann Arbor.

You can listen to a lot of his earlier music on YouTube or the CD "Heavy Music", a collection of his early recordings on the Cameo label. He resisted for his own reasons the re-release of his early works until a few years ago.

We say him in Chicago last December. It was a terrific concert. Bob's voice is not the same for sure but the band was great and to me it looks like he really enjoys putting on a good show and working the crowd. Show was almost 2 hours. Traveling Man/Beautiful Loser always a favorite of mine.

The live version of “Get Out of Denver” has to be one of the most “explosive” songs ever recorded.

Having lived the song, Roll Me Away is my favorite. Except "that bike" was a '74 Ford pickup. Big Grin

He is scheduled to be here locally in September. I'll be there.
