I am considering SBS'ing my Remington Tac14. What everybody likes for stocks. I am not opposed to a pistol grip stock like the Urbino, but would rather keep the over all package as small as possible. Purpose would be mainly for around the house and just because, but sometimes I take the side by side out to the desert.

I'm a fan of the Magpul SGA stock for a defensive 870.

The shorter LOP and somewhat more vertical grip angle allow for a more squared shooting stance, plus has a side sling mount to pair with a side sling mount on the magazine to utilize a modern adjustable 2 point sling.

Agree on the Magpul stock. It's what I put on my 870 SBS.

If you like the look or feel of the more traditional 870 stock shape and just want short, the Hogue Overmold 12" LOP stock will save you $30 bucks and is a little shorter than the Magpul SGA can go without spacers.

My Wilson Border Patrol came with the Hogue furniture and I swapped it out for Magpul. Personally, I like the ergos and features of the Magpul better.

I'll put in another vote for the Magpul SGA, it's what I have on my 870 HD gun. Make sure though, to verify that it's compatible with the Tac14. I've seen differing reports on that.

I don't see why it wouldn't... It's a standard 870 receiver, able to accept any 870 stock. (Physically, if not legally.)

I have verified 870 stocks will fit. Thanks for the recommendations.

Another vote for the Hogue short LOP stock. I usually drill the left side for one of these QD sockets and a two-point sling.

On my SBS 870 it's noticably easier to handle in tight spaces/vehicles.

My 1990s Scattergun Tech 870 Border Patrol came equipped with a Davis Speedfeed furniture. I replaced the forend with a Streamlight but have kept the sort LOP stock that was originally installed.
