Might be the best home defense and overall PCC. I own a banshee and some SBRs, shot an MPX, and some scorpions.

Yup...Mine became my nightstand gun about a week after I bought it. Coming up on year now. Need to get a white light on that. (Unless it's where I can't see it.)

What mount is your Acro on? I'm using a Scalarworks. BTW, if you throw in a Rare Breed FRT, you won't regret it.

Titan tactical makes the mount. They have a single claw design as well.

I like the cowitness infitech mount better right now but I’m gonna give the higher mount some time at the range.

I need to figure out a light mount option for sure.

I went through that, too. There just aren't that many great options if you will be shooting suppressed. The old school Surefire-type light handguard works great, but can interfere with the can, especially larger diameter cans.

I went with a Midwest Industries MLOK handguard. It gives you plenty of locations for an MLOK mount. I currently have a Bobro Engineering pivoting mount that I'm planning on pairing up with a Modlite OKW V2 or PLHv2.

Yea, I switched to a Magpul M-Lok handguard with an Inforce WML. Can will definitely shadow though.

I was a big fan of the WML design and layout, and at one point owned a half dozen WMLs and WMLxs both Gen 1 and Gen 2.

But all but one of them has failed over the years.

Several developed parasitic drain, and could not be left with a battery installed, which defeats the purpose of a defensive light. A couple cracked the body where the lens screws in. And one's internal circuitry failed.

I went through the warranty process with the first several to get replacement, but eventually just got rid of all but one of the Gen 2s that hasn't developed an issue yet. And that last one I'm only hanging onto temporarily until I can eventually replace it with a different light, since I don't trust it but it's not on a primary defensive rifle.

Yours looks like a Gen 2 WML.

The Gen 3 might be better, but I'm no longer willing to be their guinea pig, when there are other better/more reliable lights in the same price range. For example, the Streamlight RM1 and RM2 are similar form factor lights with an angled rear button and similar light output, but with a metal body and better reliability, for only a few bucks more (~$150).

Thanks, Rogue. Yea, I had the same problem with gen 1's. They all started out as flickering and then just crapped out. I have 2 gen 2's and have not had a problem with them but the first flicker I see and they'll be gone. Just a perfect platform on this gun though, that I can reach from either side. I did put a side-switch TRL 7 on my Uzi that works well too, so that's an option.

Just sbr’d a Nexus receiver to build a 2nd scorpion. Started out as spare parts, but miraculously turned into a 2nd Scorpion. Probably get rid of the original. Also have AP5 and AP5K, and then a AR9.

Maybe I’m just a Fudd, but any red dot on an MP5 just looks like heresy. And if you want a light? It better be a classic Surefire integrated light, or else a Maglight with hose clamps.

I love the MP/SP5 and enjoy mine, but best home defense is a really big stretch. however if you need a light just get the tradational surefire, the other options are worse. FWIW>

I dont disagree with you. The silhouette is one of the best ever, adding red dots to the top changes the silhouette.
However, it's nice to shoot the MP5 like all other modern firearms, with a red dot. The picture I posted of mine was before I added my red dot, so I suppose I'm guilty.

That is awesome, congrats. That HK is something that will never go out of style and are what all others are judged by.

My humble contribution. This is one of the first MKE guns to enter the country in 2009. I did an SBR but what makes the gun special to me is the work done to it by Chopstix Kid at Dakota Tactical. He took the gun in, rebarreled with RCM Trilug, re-did all the welds, powder coated, and re-marked MP5K-N. The gun is a beast. Total for the work $0.00. He said this was the first one he had worked on and the work was gratis. I’ve had the gun for 17 years now and it has not missed a beat.

The suppressor is an old school SWR Trident 9. Arguably one of the best sub gun cans ever designed and will hold its own even today. This one is cleanable thanks to ECCO Machine, but still retains the original baffles.
