If you've laid eyes on one, or had the pleasure of shooting it, well, you know. I can't own the can. It's made by some guy named Bixler? I'm hoping some court cases let me buy it, they're holding it for me. I like weird guns, this is a weird gun. It also has some real history.

Do you know it?

I'm nearing the end of my backlog

Steyr! Yes.

Guys, I didn't come back for people to not proofread one fucking sentence. We're not in a rush here. Make an effort. No suppressors here in MA. Gun laws are dumb.

This is an SSG, but it isn't a 2. If you had an SSG, you sort of "had one like it." But really try to find something like it. Up til the barrel.
The barrel is 16," I can't quite tell you why they bothered making the shroud/flashider for it that way. Unless you've fired .308 from a 16" barrel. Then tried to do it sometimes without a suppressor. Then wanted a "sort of compact" suppressor for drilling hostage takers.

Don't buy these rifles, guys. The trigger and magazine are made of spider webs and rock candy and will shatter if you fart nearby.

Yes I have seen one, though it was when you couldn’t use suppressors in my state, so it was just the rifle. That explains quite a bit.

That's some arrogant shit there. Didn't realize we were supposed to feel blessed by your re-presence.

Oh right, I've got to remember to use these: Razz Wink Big Grin so people know when it's lighthearted teasing. I was making fun of myself, sorry if that was unclear. The joke was this was a very serious discussion. Wear your Cravat.

The way your post read was that you were berating 1flynDO in particular, and the rest of us in general, for not being supremely careful with syntax, spelling, and grammar.

One evening I watched a friend's beautiful SSG69 and Steiner scope, fall off the bench and come crashing down onto the concrete deck. It hurt my very soul and I still cringe when I think about it.

arcwelder, that is entirely uncalled for. You say it was a joke- OK, you've had your laugh. From here on out, I expect you to be mannerly before all else.

Hopefully that never happens here, to this or anything else really. But in this case much is irreplaceable. I'm not sure if the barrels themselves are available, but perhaps one could be made. I hope to be able to one day own the suppressor, I hope I won't have to retire out of state to do that but who knows. Man it would be amazing to see the "gun control" merry-go-round with a locked-out tag.

I watched a Norwegian snipe named Ole kill a Talib at 450 meters in Khowst with a non- suppressed model. It was a cool, windy day and it was a most impressive shot!

Considering how old the rifle is, the short barrel is ahead of its time. The role is specific and relatively "short range," but these were meant as police/countersniper rifles. Here is another I've had for many a moon:

It's a good niche of rifle for when you've only got 300yds of range to shoot at generally. Both will go farther than that, I believe "operationally" they can go about 600.

I don’t understand how your state allows “assault “ rifles — Steyr Aug, Mp5 clone but don’t allow suppressors?

Thanks to Mitt Romney, and until some court cases hopefully take it apart, we have a carbon copy of the original 94 ban in permanent effect.

So there can be clones of stuff without evil features, and there can be "pre-ban" items that were in the state already. New ARs were fine until the now-governor "reinterpreted" the law in 2016...

Want a Tavor? How about Kel-tecs? There are all kinds of things that are "fine."

Gun laws are dumb. Machineguns are fine, as long as your local chief thinks it's Ok.. SBRs, just no suppressors.

Bans are fucking dumb, but people will hold up MA as a "success" because of relatively low crime, and no mass shootings since Lexington at Concord...

But someone bombed a marathon...

People still be shootin' eachother with handguns on the regular, and the nature and frequency of crime is social and societal, not a function of gun laws.

The kind of case I hope sees suppressors legalized here.
