Like bacon, I'm 70% fat and very salty, I guess. Had I included a Wink it might have made more sense, C'est la vie.

Regular capacity mags can only be possessed by people with a Class A permit, yeah.
Loads of people don't know that machineguns and other NFA are OK in MA, but yup. Just suppressors are a no-no. You do need a "machinegun permit" on top of the standard tax stamp stuff.

I hope in the coming years gun ownership gets cemented in established law. After how many decades it's not clear that humans perpetrate violence, not inanimate objects? Ugh.

In Washington you could own one, but not use it on a firearm until 2011. SBR/SBS we’re legalized around the same time. And now we have a magazine and assault rifle ban. Gun laws are gay.

Hey man, that bill was saving lives the moment it was signed! Remember how your streets used to run with blood? That changed overnight just because of a law. It wasn't enough that murder was already illegal. It's for the children! We did something!

gun laws in general are screwed up a lot of states,

VA did not allow SBS for a long time, then, a D Atty Gen got that fixed, and now you can,

a good friend moved out of Maryland, which seems to restrict everything, but allows MG's as well, but IIRC you have to pay $50 each, per year,

according to a couple of ATF auditors I have dealt with, NFA is not exactly one to talk to other ATF branches or divisions, and the mistakes in the registry and where stuff is will make your head spin,

I have yet to have an inspection and some NFA item turns up in the auditor's file, (yet my efile inventory list is correct, go figure)

The stats are in, for 2022. In a nation of some 340,000,000 people, there were 20,000 firearm homicides. And we need to take guns from everybody? The idea that mass shootings are on the rise is a fabrication, "children" are 19... lets ignore the impact of covid on the psyche of America...

Are homicides up? You betcha. Is it because there are more guns? Fuck no. NICS has been breaking records month after month since Obama first opened his mouth..

Nonpartisan studies of the 1994 ban don't support a new ban. The data only supports one thing, the creation of a "grey market." Pre-ban guns and mags became more valuable. That is the measurable effect of the ban. Crime? Not so much. Mass shootings? Ha.

The support for a ban comes from people ignorant of the law, who are not firearm owners. Unfortunately there are a lot of those people.

I've seen that if you take out something like 10 ZIP codes (don't know the exact number), the US becomes as safe as Scandinavia.

In the Trump administration there was some brouhaha in Congress about a "Safe Hearing Act" or something like that--removing Federal regulations for suppressors. 'Course it probably wouldn't help us in CA or MA.

or take out Suicides (number basically cuts in half) or look at it as you mentioned by zip code, or demographics

saw a blurb that Tx can now have silencers w/o Fed approval, as long as they don't leave the state,

No, someone did not get offended. That's not what happened. You were outright rude to a member over a misspelled or mistyped word. No one in this thread has gone out of their way to be offended. This is on you and no one else.

I think the response you received as push-back was appropriate. You've said you were being funny but there was nothing funny about it.
