Dwill104Do I want an XCR?
What are the thoughts on the Robinson Arms XCR? Thinking about a short barrel 5.56 that isn’t just another AR. I used to have a M96 years ago, but sold it, which I kind of regret now. The XCR looks nice on paper, but wonder about reliability, accuracy, and support.

AnubismpI had one and wish I had not traded it away. I dont regret the trade but more that I could have likely afforded to keep a nice rifle. It is light weight and very well designed. I'm not sure about the CS, bad or good.

12131You asked the question? Means you want it.

smschulzI have an early generation of XCR in 556, they have made several improvements since this but I have not done any of the modifications as it works (worked- haven't shot it in years).
I always was infatuated in it's design as was quite enthusiastic about the XCR, was on the XCR forum a lot but eventually lost enthusiasm. Not because the rifle is bad because it isn't.
I don't know how support is now but back then the company support was awful - long shipping times, communication was non existent and parts availability were poor. On top of that ~ on their form Alex (owner) can on and posted a lot of negative comments aimed directly to any and all customers that asked questions. It was amazingly off putting. It's a shame as the rifle itself is particularly nice but it is hard for me to get behind it when the treatment is/was not just poor but spectacularly poor. Perhaps as they were really just caring abut Government Contracts, don't know.
Service doesn't have to be that way ~ for example: just look at Seekins or MDT, two that I have recent contact with and they have gone way beyond good support to great and make me enthusiastic to support them.
Ultimately, it is a nice rifle and could have been a major player but something was off as far as customer service was involved. Maybe times have changed. I have since moved on to PRS rifles so no interest from me there.
Good luck.

Hey, at least he asked the question before he bought the rifle. I see so many posts where guys buy a gun and THEN ask for opinions about it.
