Thinking of getting a 18" barrel with rifle gas. Will that work on a standard carbine buffer, spring, and tube?

I've built a lot of mids and carbines, but the only rifle I ever built was in standard A2 configuration with the solid stock.

Yes, I had a 20" upper on a lower with a M4 stock. It worked just fine with that setup.

The standard buffer should be fine with that.
