For more context, another issue in July 1983 tested the new P226 and gave list as $620.00

I passed on a 1903 A3 for $25.00 at a local hardware store in 1963.

But $25.00 n 1963 was quite a bit of money.

The 03 has gone up a lot more than inflation, though.

That's $1,794.59 in 2022 dollars. So that was pretty steep back then.

Yep. That's only $231.79 in 2022 dollars. A nice M1903A3 is pushing $1,000 these days. I'd buy all I could afford at $231 apiece.

I bought a real nice 03 in 1960 at a gun show for $8.00. Still got it.

First HK ran $130, sold it and put $160 into the second.

Kept it until the 90s and sold it for $1,000, along with a coil of rope that came with it. Seemed to always smell like the Everglades.

No, no rope but some of us might remember that ad, too.
