Keep it. Bought my M1S90 when H&K was started importing them. I’ll never sell it. My son is attached to it too so it’ll likely remain in the family for many more years.

Let the Benelli collector enjoy the collectible, and you can enjoy your modern defensive shotgun with the parts support and lower recoil you want. Win-win.

For what you're looking for - aftermarket support and lower recoil - I'd sell/trade the M1 for a 1301 Tactical in a heartbeat.

I'd also consider the ""tactical" A300 (Ultimate Patrol?), depending on exactly which A300 model and which 1301 model he has, and how much cash he's willing to add on top. The A300 Patrol is nearly as good as the 1301 Tactical, but uses an older gas system and cuts some corners to keep the price down.

Currently, the 1301 Tactical Mod 2 is the better shotgun but the A300 Ultimate Patrol is likely the better value in Beretta tactical shotguns for what you get vs. what it costs, and is just as capable when it comes to how most shotgun users out there would be using it.

I had the one years ago and deeply regret selling it. However, if it doesn’t work for you, unload it and get what you would like to have.

I wished I had not sold my M1 right up until I got my 1301. I love the shit out that gun. If your M1 is not doing it for you, I'd get a semi auto that will.

But, SBSing(if that's a word) it would be great too IF it does the trick. If it doesn't, then you have a real expensive thing you can't trade and don't like. The 1301 handles much better and "handier" than other similar barrel sized guns.

Sold my Benelli HK marked M1S90 last year, the sale got me an A300 Ultima patrol and red dot sight. A lighter package overall, a more user friendly gun in general. I had considered the the 1301 but after shooting the A400 for years as my primary hunting shotgun, I couldn’t justify the added cost. Especially for a gun that’s typically around 3 or 4 on my go to list.
