I would definitely be a buyer if they came to the US. They look really nice and I like less common European rifles. That’s partly why I like my B&T APCs so much. Hopefully they’ll find a way to get them here.

Beretta was supposed to sell the NARP which was based on Sako (since BDT owns them). It's great to see the Nordic countries standardizing given imminent threats and their close proximity

I would definitely be interested in the 7.62 version they show, depending on the street price.


I also really like the ability to swap back and forth between D.I. and Piston.

As of May ‘25 they cost around €2990 or $3,250 for the ARG S 40 which was a limited edition civilian version. I’d like to feel the handguard on the piston .223
Nice that they got the piston that low.

That safety lever has a much larger shelf to engage.

The safety on the AR has been an issue in ice tests.
I bet Sako has some other tricks too. Sako bolt rifles are worth the coin. This rifle would be HK territory at least.

condensed version that he states at the end of the video. piston's need less oil!

Its pretty nice gun but nothing game changing. 1-2 moa is nothing special. my old Rock River is 1 moa. But I do like all the enhancments that they have put in it.. like fully ambidextrous controls and 2 state match trigger

Is it just its size? I have trouble reaching the common firing selector with my hand in the normal firing position and have replaced several with larger versions.

Interestingly they DIDN'T go with the traditional fold down trigger guard for use with heavy gloves/mittens. (which probably nobody ever uses lol) but did make it slightly larger.

I mean, I love the feature set. I like the rail, full ambi, 45 degree safety. Cool stuff. I can get that stuff on a lot of rifles though. I just bought another piston gun so no issue there. It certainly doesn’t seem anything ground breaking. I wouldn’t not buy one if the price was right.

Ice builds up under and over/around the selector cementing it in place with ice. There isn’t enough surface area left on top of the selector for it to be rotated and break it free. The ice has to be removed for the selector to rotate. Basically like freezing rain locking up a car door handle.

Kalashnikov style rifles seemed to do fine with their unique selector design.

The selector on the Sako rifles seems oversized for even gloved hands.
