Sure, but in a contest of ergo's, accuracy, etc.

I just picked up a used X95 this week that I'm looking forward to shooting. In Georgia we have the Outdoor Trader which is a great site to trade weapons. It took about two years to find a decent trade, but now I've got a stock X95 with a nice Eotech amd Surefire light to play with. I will shoot it in the next few weeks amd then determine if I need to upgrade the trigger.

The X95 is very good. Some of these things are just ranking supermodels..

Had a X95 that I bought at the end of 2016. Sold it to someone who REALLY wanted it a couple years later. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I found myself missing it, so I grabbed another one. Weird thing is that I only paid $20 more for this one than the first one 9 years ago. I like the platform. Had an SAR too. I prefer the 95. Never could warm up to the Aug. Always found them a little on the fugly side.

I own all three. With a Geisselle trigger and trigger bow the Tavor has BY FAR the best trigger. The operating system can get a little gassy and hard to clean.

The Hellion is the most modern of the three. Totally abidextrious Short stroke piston runs just fine with a can on. Adjustable length of pull is a thing with body armor. If I had to go to war tomorrow I'd probably grab the Hellion.

All that being said, lousy trigger and all the Aug is still my Favorite. Don't know if I can honestly describe why. First love? maybe. I have both the Nato and Aug mag versions I prefer the Aug Mags but of course the Nato mag version is more sustainable. I haven't tried to run a can on them yet they just feel right the way they are. Honestly the charging handle sucks and I keep forgiving it for its quirks.

FWIW Nobody has mentioned the Black Tuna, AKA the FN FS2000. Another quirky but excellent firearm. Looks weird, shoots good. Keeping the first few fired cases in the gun is another weird feature but useful?? Another totally ambi gun........

Remember, this is all supposed to be for fun...................

my friend has a Tavor X95, I have a AUG A3 M1 NATO.

I'd say AUG all the way, Tavor honestly feels bulky to me.

The new AUG A3 M2 NATO has BHO as well, and older AUG A3 M1 can be updated with a stock and trigger pack change.

I am currently using the regular AUG stock, but have a NATO stock in reserve in the closet. I considered getting the updated one with the BHO, but with the cost of that plus the new trigger pack, in addition to the fact that I almost exclusively use the AUG stock/magazines means I'll probably say hell with it.

After you've spent the time with it at your cheek, I don't need an update.

The AK doesn't have a bho, but I'm crazy when I saw the VZ58 is superior..

The FS2000 is a novelty. It handles like my ironing board. If you're going weird, but useful... Keltec.

The Hellion is really good, but bulky again.

The X95 is a solid choice, but when you are tucked in, AUG all the way. For me, RDB-S second to the AUG, but I know I ate too much paste as a kid.

My real wants are a FAMAS and WA2000...

For serious yo, the 1911 has been perfect for a long time, but we keep looking for something better than the AUG? It's time to give it Mp5 status.

I’ve had several different AUG’s since circa ‘95, so I may be somewhat bias. When the Tavor came out, reviews were all gteatgreat so I bought one after a year or so … sold it at the next gun show 2 weeks later. I didn’t like the idea of needing to replace the trigger to get the pull down to 5 pounds from 13, the scope rail being so low and the funky forend, basically another $500-$600 after spending $1,800+ on the gun.

After all, it’s just another 223 lead launcher.

If you really want something you'll find a way ...
... if you don't you'll find an excuse.

I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either Wink

Yea, the original Tavor SAR was certainly lacking in those areas. They did fix most, if not all, of it with the X95 but Aug guys are gonna be Aug guys no matter what. Nothing wrong with that. S&W guys think Colt revolver cylinders turn backwards. Same thing.

I like my X95. I like the manual of arms and I'm pretty good with it. I think I'll keep it.

Regardless of which is best, can we all agree that people skeptical of Bullpups can shut the fuck up now? It's OK to not like it, chief, but don't tell me these rifles aren't hot sex...
