Several months ago I built a SPR using a Ballistic Advantage SPR barrel and it would group 77g SMK around 6”. I sent the barrel back and they sent me another that would do around 2.5” with 77gr. Neither were acceptable to me, so I sold the second upper to someone who was happy with how it shot.

Last month my buddy was shooting his 20” WOA upper and grouping everything 1/2-3/4 inches consistently, so I ordered a 18” 1/8 Varmint upper with their vented hand guards. With minimal load development ie…. my very first load of 23.5gr of Varget with a 77gr SMK, it is already shooting 1/2 and 3/4 groups.

That first 10 shot group was 10rds using Speer brass and 10rds using PMC brass to see if there would be a POI change. As you can see, there was no change.

I was testing 2 other rifles in 223 as well, but the WOA groups are marked WOA. The gun has about 150rds through it, but I can see it is going to be a shooter.

All 5 shot groups at 100yds. Winds were gusting to 28mph due to the hurricane in the Gulf. That may explain the flyers and I’m sticking too it. Big Grin

Very nice, usncorpsman!

With the 1:8" twist, I wonder how it would handle lightweight varmint bullets?

Yes, you're right. I looked at the original post several times, but kept skipping over the scope description. So thanks. Smile
