Feds raid gunstores and take those books and what happens to them when an ffl retires or dies? ----------------------------------------- Roll Tide! Glock Certified Armorer NRA Certified Firearms Instructor

Wait, what? |
^^^ Some folks express doubt but I have none that the fed is keeping the information for future use. Especially given the current regime and its indiscretions. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

Previous shop I worked at closed upon the death of the owner. Thirty plus years of 4473’s and we boxed and shipped all of them to the ATF. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. and to finish it, if I may, (and thanks para for the post) I would suggest you take a step back and actually read the rules, and maybe chat with a few FFL's better yet, go work for one for a day, store, gunshow, wherever, and see how the process works, there is a lot, and absolute shitton lot, of information on both sides of that argument (loophole, registration, etc) that is honestly just wrong, or mis intepreted, and the hyperbole got rolling with it, the only exception is NFA, the ATF will know the make model and serial number , and all the other pertinent info that is on the Form (1, 4 or 5) for an individual or trust, now, re me having money riding on those background checks, yes, I do , lost a sale this past weekend at a gunshow due to a denial,, that dude is the only one that had his information from the 4473 scanned and kept by, The State Police (who surely shared it with the ATF) which is abit of a moot point, since I still have the revolver, which I will resell, but I also sell a shitton online, so it is not my sole income, now here is a kicker, some business (FFL') will get a bit heavy on forms, and will trade in there current FFL for a new one, new FFL, means all the records for the old FFL get boxed, and shipped out to ATF in WVA, Bass Pro/Cabela's does that, as do several other big FFL's still not registration tho,,,, https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

I disagree with you. I am an 07/02 FFL/SOT in NC. We have no state UBC and the vast majority of our clients have a concealed handgun permit or are buying a MG, SBR, or suppressor and no background check is required. If the process for title-1 firearms was truly only a binary go/no-go scenario, that would be one thing. But this is not the case, because of the 4473 which has make, model, and caliber of what is being purchased, along with the buyer’s address. While not a true registration, and ATF is legally prevented from keeping the data in a database, it has been well documented that they do not care about these restrictions. They have illegally maintained a database of 4473s in the past and we would be wise to assume will at any chance do so again in the future. This is not about safety, it is about government control. --------------------------------------------- "AND YEA THOUGH THE HINDUS SPEAK OF KARMA, I IMPLORE YOU...GIVE HER A BREAK, LORD". - Clark W.
