Isn’t that why the British did the sand cuts to the bolt carriers of their L1A1s? ___________________________________________________________________________ "....imitate the action of the Tiger."

Allegedly yes. My bolt carrier came from an L1A1 and has the sand cuts. RMD TL Davis: “The Second Amendment is special, not because it protects guns, but because its violation signals a government with the intention to oppress its people…” Remember: After the first one, the rest are free.

I have read that Israel had some issues with them in the desert during the '67 War (IIRC). I love the rifle. The StG58 is my favorite version. I have two built on the old LMT/DSA receivers and they are fine rifles.

I used to have one. Great guns. I liked it a lot, but using a normal, comfortable stance it turned out the rear sight was a little too close to my face. Twice it smacked my glasses and scratched them pretty bad. I sold it a while later.
