I posted these a few years ago when I got my 6940P but since there is a recent thread about the 6940 I figured I’d share them again.

I ended up selling the standard 6940 and keeping the piston just because I like different things. I don’t believe a piston is necessary in an AR, my go to is a 6720, but I really like Colt rifles.

Here is a comparison between the two uppers. The lowers are the same except for the rollmark. The 6940 just said “M4 Carbine” and the 6940P says “Piston Carbine”. I picked the piston up in 2013. Colt doesn’t make them anymore unfortunately. It shoots just like a normal AR, I honestly didn't notice any difference.
