Watched 22plinkster's review of the Tandemcross Manticore. He states it weighs about 3 lbs, 15 oz. I just weighed my Marlin Papoose with a cut down ATI Fiberforce stock and it is 3 lbs 11 oz, without an optic of course. The Tandemcross looks cool and the trigger assembly is probably superior to any other Ruger 10/22 accessory on the market but I enjoy happy my lightweight plinker. Didn't get the price on his build but probably a little more than mine This message has been edited. Last edited by: SigSentry,

Remington 581 at 5.5lb and I wouldn't want it any lighter.

I bought a pink one for my youngest daughter, it was my third attempt to get her interested in shooting. The first attempt was a Sears Ranger which (according to her) was too ugly, so I bought a birch Cricket and she wanted a “looky-through” thing (scope) on it. She was 6 and a girly-girl. She never got the gun-nut itch If you really want something you'll find a way ... ... if you don't you'll find an excuse. I'm really not a "kid" anymore ... but I haven't grown up yet either

Probably a Winchester 67 single shot I inherited. Most of my purchases are of the type you need a porter to carry from the car to your shooting bench and back again. Never been concerned with lightweight stuff too much. And because my eyes are crap, I need the "looky-through" things on all my guns. A Perpetual Disappointment...

Kimberkid, yup I've got the same pink Cricket, bit no scope. My middle daughter is itching to get to shoot it, but I don't think is old enough for the nearby indoor ranges yet. The Enemy's gate is down.

The Marlin Model 70 Papoose. It comes in at 3.25lbs. We will never know world peace, until three people can simultaneously look each other straight in the eye Liberals are like pussycats and Twitter is Trump's laser pointer to keep them busy while he takes care of business - Rey HRH.

My Browning BL-22 lever action is pretty light, but I don't have a number. ________________________________________ -- Fear is the mind-killer. Ruger 10/22 Takedown. Given that I'm not climbing mountains with it, I don't personally have a need to go any lighter. It is plenty light and handy. Lately I've been squirrel hunting with a Marlin 99M1 that I bought years ago for my wife. It's a little heavier but it's a very competent squirrel rifle and surprisingly accurate with CCI subsonic ammo.

Yet we learn about interesting things this way. So, I submit my Hamilton Rifle No. 27, at 2.55 lb. I thought my Stevens Marksman next to it was gonna be competitive, but it is chunky at 4.3 lb. Both were youth rifles (the Cricket of yesteryear) of my wife’s grandfather. -- I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. I have a 10/22 built on a Mod Shot chassis which is really light. Must be sub 5 pounds easy with optic and loaded magazine. Commercially, the Christiansen Arms Ranger is super light weight. Ignem Feram
