I rarely see the tube loaders in the movies, almost always the side gate style Safety, Situational Awareness and proficiency. Neck Ties, Hats and ammo brass, Never ,ever touch'em w/o asking first

Loading from the front (Volcanic / late 1840's and Henry / 1860) as well as tube fed from the stock side (Spencer / 1860). Side loading gate didn't show up until the 1866 Yellowboy.

The Ball repeating carbine had a loading port/ejection port before the Yellowboy. (slightly earlier) _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

IIRC the loading gate was a King Patent? or improvement? king being the guy that invented it https://chandlersfirearms.com/chesterfield-armament/

The Winchester 1866 was the first model to use the King’s patent side loading gate. The original Henry rifles loaded from the front of the mag tube.
