I swear I had
something for this

After a lot of researching, I finally went ahead and got my first AR and got a really good deal on it:

I picked up a slightly used Geissele Super Duty 11.5" Pistol that was slightly used for $1150. There is a slight nick on the forward assist and I have to retime the Surefire Warcomp, but considering I got this for an $800 discount on MSRP, I can live with that. There's no marks on the bolt carrier and doesn't even look fired. I will have to get use to that trigger. It's a light 2-stage that's maybe 1# on the first stage and 2# at the last.

Hopefully, I can get some practice over my days off. I'm waiting on a Holosun that actually turns on and get my Wilson Combat irons, Streamlight, and Slate Black hand stop installed before going.

Should be fun.

ATF new brace versus SBR rule goes in effect. Bet one can't get that as DANH is proposing to configure it to pass the new points rule. And I'm certainly not hopefully any of the new court cases will get this rule deferred quickly.

I think the BAT-men recently announced that the final Rule will now be announced in December instead of August...

Besides, one of the reasons I went this direction is since the lower is designated as a pistol, I can throw a 16" upper on it and be fine while I can't take a rifle lower and throw a shorter barrel on it even if I use a brace. I'll probably SBR it eventually since I'd like to add a Surefire suppressor and there's a local company that can laser engrave my lower.

The ATF issue aside, that's a great gun.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
