Damn, I have fun with these things Smile

Target rich environment...

Farmer friend up the road lets me have some fun at the end of the season. (So long as I bring enough ammo to let him shoot too)

Well, the thermometer on the deck is reading 22 degrees and since I’m not quite ready for sub-freezing range time yet, I thought I would take you along while fixing some pup issues…
After shooting these side by side, in was obvious that the FDE rifle needed a few upgrades.

1. Trigger – FDE trigger pull, while not bad at all for a bullpup, was severely lacking next to the Geissele. A long, somewhat mushy take-up (similar to a striker fired pistol trigger) that breaks at about 6 lb10 oz with some additional room to the wall after reset. While a trigger pull weight of 6.5+ lbs. is not an issue, the spongy pull and break is.

2. Cutlass style grip makes it way too easy for middle finger to slide behind trigger.
3. Shortness of forend makes for a weird wrist angle on support hand.

To be continued...UPS on the way with some parts

And... she's done!

1.Add Geissele Super Sabra trigger pack and Lightning Bow.Mushy take-up gone with a crisp trigger break sitting @ just under 3 lbs. Reset is to wall with no take-up. Perfect!

2. Add 3PP pistol grip
3. Add BCM vertical grip
4. Add some Magpul XTM rail covers

Problems solved Big Grin

I have an old Tavor. I really want an X95 instead. I hate the cutlass grip thingy.

Went to the lgs for a Lipsey SP101. None to be had. They did however have a new Hellion for $1349. No tax in Florida till the end of the year so I figured this would be the cheapest I might ever find one. Added a VFG. Need an optic and a sling and a light and enough rounds through her to be confident in her. I still want an X95.
