For budget priced scopes I like the Leupold VX-Freedom scopes, the last one I bought was on Amazon IIRC $349 and the 1 piece mount for about $85 … light weight & good clarity.

I like this idea inleu of other options. $400 is a perfect budget.

But I also like the idea of reaching out a bit futher with a little more mag with illumination of a Trijicon at around $1000.

Those seem to be about the best options.

Kimber, what Freedom scope would you recommend on an AR10? This is a shtf type unit. So versatility would be important.

Personally I like the 4-12x40. It has a duplex reticle and the lower leg also has two more sighting dots for longer range. It’s not cluttered with a gazillion hash marks

However if you do like hash marks for this one may be for you

Fritz is very knowledgeable. He was kind enough to and help me find what I wanted (it was a higher-end Leupold) when I built my JP Enterprise 6.5 Creedmoor, for that rifle it’s the perfect scope for me.
