The correct answer: both:

One was made in Japan, the other was made in Belgium, both designed by the same genius. My dad decided to make some room in his safe today and these came home with me.

My dad bought the 22 for my mom, but she never shot it. He put the scope on and I had to chuckle a little because the mount is too far forward and prevents the rotating the barrel enough to take it down. I removed the scope and I’m the first person in 60 years to take the rifle down.

I don’t know yet, but it’s never been fired. It weighs in between my Marlin 1895 and my Pedersoli 1874 Sharps. The action is really slick and the trigger is fantastic.

It's a 3x-8x Bushnell Scopechief 22. I'm assuming the mount came with the scope. The scope has a dovetail that runs the full length of the main tube just like the dovetail on the top of the gun's receiver. The mount clamps to both the scope's and receiver's dovetails. It's really a slick arrangement that gets the scope about as low as can be and gives a lot of adjustment for eye relief.

The glass seems good even at 8x. My only complaint is none of my metric and SAE allen wrench sets have the correct size. It's between 3mm and 4mm.
