I'm the opposite, I forget the brand, but tested an AR at a vendor event that had either the circle/dot or horseshoe/dot & it was a bit of a blur [astigmatism, maybe].

If it was an EOTech or Vortex UH-1 Holographic sight, it will be blurry because of the holographic technology, but on the plus side, the enemy won't see the red dot reflecting through the front of the sight at night.
