Hello guys. I have always loved the Eotech reticle but had to return 2 of them due to issues with one not adjusting the brightness and the other just draining batteries while not in use. The reticle also looked fuzzy, but crystal clear with a 3x magnifier. Alas, they went away due to the issues noted above, Fast forward to a week ago. I saw this particular optic and read many reviews on it and decided to give it a try. The optic is smaller than the Eotech, but the window is almost the exact same size. The reticle is also crystal clear without a magnifier and allows for 3 reticle choices. I threw it on my 300 BLK SBR and have to admit it is pretty nice on this gun. The included mount is a lower 1/3 co-witness with my BUIS and the lens covers are crystal clear when looking through them. I see no need to even open the covers. This is a nice optic for sure. It pains me to give money to China. I wish our US companies would step up to the plate and give us better choices. If China can, the finest country on the planet can do it as well. Cover closed. Covers open. Same color rendition.

I too wish we had a US or, at least a friendly equivalent to Holosun.

I’ve got a couple of AEMS. They’re pretty nice, but a bit expensive (not interested in the cheaper Core versions). ADM has QD mounts for them.

I swear I had something for this |
You've got the various Romeo 4 models that are US assembled and don't use Chinese parts that has the circle dot and there's Romeo 8 if you want to go full size Eotech. Here's some reviews: Garand Thumb posted this in the comments on the Spear LT:
Romeo 5 is still currently Chinese.

I won't wade into Holosun vs Sig, but I will say that at least now both are combat proven in Ukraine and I've seen nothing but great feedback about both brands even with all their varieties. Until this thing, that was the one legit thing everyone used to whip out as an argument against them. I hate to send the money to China equally as much as I hate to be part of the "just as good crowd," but there comes a point where spending $500 and up on an optic when I can get the same performance for under $400, or even half that just doesn't make enough sense. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

I have to say that Holosun makes a decent product and is pretty robust. I like the look of them and the 507c I had was tough as nails for the money. I bought it as I wasn't sure if a red dot was for me and didn't want to spend a bunch of money if I didn't like it. Many Sig items are also made in China and it is hard to get away from buying/getting something they don't have a hand in. On a side note, I just bought a Viridian dot optic for my pistol, as their website says their products are made in the USA but the box it came in says made in China. Apparently, not everything they make is built/made here. Figures.

Looks a bit bulky (coming from someone with a Strikefire II), but for the price, not bad. The Enemy's gate is down.

Ugh. China. We can choose to either be part of the solution or be part of the problem. I chose Trijicon RMR.

I guarantee you the phone or computer you used to type this message is from China. There is no way around supporting their economy in the near future. Lack of computer chips from China damn near cut car production world wide during Covid. The Trijicon RMR has too much green tint, fisheye and too small a window to fill the role I am looking for.

I am working on a Dell PC that my company provides for me. I have no choice on this product. I do have a choice for personal purchases, such as optics. I choose not to buy Chinese.

I would love to buy American products all the time but let’s be honest, it is getting harder and harder everyday to do it. China is intermingled with almost every product we purchase. American companies and companies in general are about profit and many American companies deal with China to increase their profit margins. This thread is about an optic that happens to work well no matter the place it originated. You post a lot here and I respect your opinion and your well thought out posts.

I dig the AEMS. I'm a dot only guy so I prefer the cheaper AEMS Core. It's actually quite compact.

$299 at Midway, not bad. The Enemy's gate is down.

$299 is Holosun's minimum advertised price. If you're in the market, consider looking at my ad in the classifieds. Good Holosun pricing for SF members.

I'm a fan of Holosun, nice reticles, battery life, and price. I have one on my tacticool M1 carbine. Holds zero, compact, all good. I have 1 AR, a SigM400, 16" barrel, but I splurged on an ACOG 3.5x, the glass is just superb.

No lens covers, no solar panel, and no multiple reticle system on the Core. The Core is also aluminum instead of titanium.

The standard AEMS is also aluminum instead of titanium...spec'd as 7075. The Core is just listed as "aluminum"...I'm guessing 6061. I've got three AEMS Cores on different rifles, zero issues with any of them. I've also got a few 503/403's mounted on other rifles, a 507C on my Beretta 1301, and a couple of 407CO's on my pistols. I've carried one on my duty pistol for a couple of years now...thousands of rounds through it and untold number of knocks against walls, door frames, various vehicle surfaces, etc. and no issues at all. The only Holosun product I've had an issue with was an HM3X magnifier that the mount become floppy. I sent it back under warranty and received it back in about three weeks. When it returned, it wouldn't adjust for elevation to zero with the red dot. I wound up returning it to the dealer where I bought it and they gave me a refund.
I picked mine up for $256 at Primary Arms. edit: Just looked...showing $261 now. https://www.primaryarms.com/ho...-2-moa-red-dot-sight

The Core being red dot only is what killed that version for me. Because of my vision, the circle dot of the standard version is what I need. The other differences (lens covers, solar cell, better aluminum), I don’t really care that much about.
