I recently picked up a new model GSG-16 (.22 LR) from Palmetto State Armory on one of their package deals after hearing good things about them as an option for the "Fun Shoots" I participate in weekly. While I didn't like the OEM collapsible stock and cheap red/green dot optic that came with it, I found that the trigger was outstanding, the rifle fed, fired, and ejected reliably with any (high velocity) .22 LR ammo I fed it, and it was extremely accurate at the ranges I shot (30-45 feet).
I replaced the stock with a Magpul folder that I found on sale (as a blem) at HK Parts, a Magpul vertical foregrip, and the optic with a Romeo 7S green dot that was also on sale. The result is that I've got a very fun/accurate/reliable rimfire that cost me far less to shoot than my SBR'd HK 9mm clone (or my other 9mm SBRs) and it will pay for itself in just a few months if I choose to use it occasionally as my "go to" PCC.
