So what would you recommend. I am not sure what will be compatible.
I would like to be around $1250. Max $2k. Less is better.
LaRue and Noveske come to mind. Others. Not sure what will mate to my lower. Please Educate me and provide some food for thought. Thinking 18", maybe 16" for barrel length. But am open.

I plan to shoot suppressed also.

Thanks guys.

What’s the application? Target shooting? Hunting? DMR?

What about the LMT with the 5R rifling like the Brits use? I didn’t check the price on those. Probably over budget.

Could be all three as for application.

I am not sure if you could buy just a LMT upper. Also not sure if it a pro priority item.

My PSA PA10 uses MagPul mags btw.

I believe mine might be a DPMS pattern. The LaRue is an M110. Not sure about Noveske or anyone else's.

So far my research is leading me to believe my choices are going to be

DPMS
Aero
PSA
Stag

Anyone else you guy can recommend for an AR10 upper?

Make your own?
PSA upper and a Wilson Combat 18" barrel would be a good start.

I believe I was hovering around the $1200 range when I was pricing out building a DI upper for my SR762 using a WC barrel and Stag upper.

What's your goal/intended use?

If you want the ultimate in accuracy it's hard to beat a Compass Lake Precision upper. You can choose your barrel length, and between .308 and 6.5CM. I believe they're designed to work with an Aeroprecision M5 style lower. Probably looking at $2-300 over your current budget, but you are basically guaranteed to get a sub MOA rifle, and you can order one now, but may be looking at a couple of months wait.

I guess reliability and accuracy being 1 and 2. How are the Ballistic advantage barrel's that Aero use's. I do not need another project so building is out.
From what I have seen so far an Aero light weight looks pretty good.

I am assuming Aero is a DPMS pattern, no?
Thanks guys.

If you don't already have the lower, why not a full PSA?

The AR10 isn’t standardized like the AR15, I’ve had a KAC, DPMS, SiG & Sharps none of the uppers would fit on any other lower, even though all were considered the “DPMS pattern” but you can put a better barrel on a PSA upper …

Thanks guys, looks like there are not many options. If Aero will mate up I will probably go that route. Is Ballistic Advantage a good barrel maker?

Also are BCG's interchangeable. Any thinking about picking up a Toolcraft as they seem to be high quality?

Not sure who PSA use's?

Thanks guys.

I have second hand information that PSA uses Toolcraft among others.

In building my 6.5 Creedmoor AR10 (uses a 308 bolt) and getting a 2nd barrel for my SSG300, 308 bolt's are not standardized and both had to be headspaced to the barrel.
